My verdict: This is a useful accelerator for e-bikes, quad bikes, and electric scooters that shows an accurate voltage of eg 37.5 volts that shows an accurate voltage of eg 37.5 volts better than three LEDs (green yellow red). The keys have a protective effect against theft. Nice design, but “metal” colorful. *Usually, on controllers, the signal wire is somewhere between +5V and -5V. The wires on the connector must be moved to match the connector on the console.

Be careful when handling the nominal voltage, it appears to be directly from the battery, short circuit or wrong connection can damage the control unit or other parts of the electric bike
There is a thin red wire on most control units in the battery connector or ignition cable. When the voltage of the yellow wire reaches 36V, the voltmeter will light up. (If you do not have an ignition wire from the console, do not connect the blue wire, and unplug it)
3 wires, black, green, red are already connected to the control unit, the special black wire is for the voltmeter on the negative accelerator GND.
The wires on the saddle speed connector are exactly the same (green to green, red to red, black to black) you just need to change the throttle connector – there is a small black connector and the control board has a larger white connector.

I got a thumb throttle unit to successfully turn the voltage show on and off. But I don’t get any response from the throttle so the car won’t turn.
The “3 Speed Gears” or “Shift 3 Speed Gears” wires on the console are not connected. There is no place for me to plug it in because the thumb pedal only has 5 wires (3 wires: black, red, green. 1 wire for the electric lock line, 1 wire for the battery +). Is this why I can’t tell the console to turn the wheel?

I don’t think it has anything to do with the power supply/output rating on the controller preventing it from delivering power to the wheel as I tried it with another controller with lower power (60V 45A) and got the same result. The only thing that works is the original voltage regulator and throttle shield that came with my scooter. What am I doing wrong here… Any ideas?

It should be noted that during this conversion process there is no guarantee that the color of the wires (phase wire, saddle wire or throttle wire) will match on one side versus the other!
My point is that you can connect the throttle correctly, but if the phase and sensor wires are wrong, you will have the problem you are having right now. The two sets of wires (motor and throttle) must be correct for the motor to respond to the throttle.

I wasn’t familiar with the controllers you’re using, the first thing I thought of was the “self-learning” threads. Do they “learn” to match phase and hall sensor wires? If so, how do you do the “reset” if it doesn’t work?

I tried and tried to connect every set of phase wires I could think of but it didn’t make a difference. The only thing I didn’t try was the saddle sensor wires, because I wasn’t ready to try all the fixtures for them. If I had the energy to do it all, I’d get a new scooter…
Because I’m so tired. I thought the saddle sensor wires didn’t need to be connected to start the motor…the other controller I tried (45 amps) doesn’t have the saddle sensor wires. My original console had the saddle sensor wires on it.
There are two types of controllers. One is non-sensor, and does not use saddle sensors. One is controlled and uses the censor. If the controller has sensor wires, you usually need to connect them.

Interestingly, the sensor wires are usually wired with the same color combination used by the phase wires.
Thanks for the info, AHicks. I’m giving up this new console…it’s not working. The reason I got it is because one of my consoles and a front motor (a twin motor electric scooter) died a few months ago.
I’d order a 2800w motor forward, that way the throttle shield would work on the console, LOL.
Not sure if my recently purchased key lock thumb throttle (see above) will work…or should I buy another key lock switch? Which one, this or this? I’m not really sure what to do. I plan to run two controllers and two accelerators independently.

I own a controller with self learning. The instructions are to turn it on with the learning wires connected. The motor must rotate twice. Then disconnect the wires, and the console will remember the settings you learned. It worked for me, and two years later the observer still remembers. What I didn’t do is change the halls and see if the console can adjust that,

The connection is simple. The throttle shield has a five-wire plug. Connects to the console for a 5-wire jack. Three-phase connection connected. Saddle sensor connected. On the first test, the power was on and the throttle worked! I was excited and took the scooter for a test ride. From 0-8 mph it runs rough. There is roughness/vibration/noise. The vibration/roughness disappears when I accelerate to higher speeds. I drove 5 miles at speeds in the 30’s and 40’s.
